To Kill a mocking bird.

I am rereading To kill a mocking bird by Harper Lee. I found it last summer at a truck-stop that sold used books. Believe me this was a gem amongst some of the other books they had to offer so I snatched it up. I have not read it in years and oh boy I am enjoying it like I have never read it before. Maybe it is because I am older and more mature I can appreciate the story and writing than when I was 18. It is interesting to note that this is the authors only major work she ever published and that she won the Pulitzer prize for it. I just can't seem to put it down, but I am going to force myself to take it slow and really immerse myself in the writing rather than devour it like it's the last piece of chocolate on the planet.

immerse. sorry, you know me, the spelling and grammar police. ;)
anyway, i've never read that book either! now i'll have to. that's the only book harper lee wrote. so strange huh? i wonder why? i know w/truman, in cold blood was basically HIS last book because the whole experience had screwed him up so badly, the research, the getting involved w/the killers and all. after that he was kinda "ruined". only then wrote short stories and failed attempts at novels. so yeah, you'll have to let me know how it is and i should just read it period, for my literary fortitude.
and YES, i totally agree w/what you said in your comment on my page....people are soooo lazy about independent thought, just think what they are "told to" basically. and need to RELAX!! hell, we are supposed to be the wild and crazy state (and possibly country) but we are soooo friggin uptight and judgmental and bothered by anything that is not puritan. and yet, conversely, we are also the ones making all this stuff that people are railing against, possible w/our consumerism. can't have it both ways sheep!

i LOVE your writing (and this is not fan talk, it's blatant honesty), i always have, since we were teens. it's engaging and funny and totally entertaining. now put THAT in your pipe and smoke it. ha. forgive me, i'm giddy w/needing sleep. god only knows what might come out if i keep typing.
i might start talking about the hindenberg or something equally random.
